Youth

We want young people to have the opportunity to experience God’s grace and to respond by living Jesus-centred lives. Through our youth programme, we aim to support young people to become, grow, live and serve as Christians, within their environment and context.

Youth – Sunday Nights

Our youth group meets every Sunday evening during the school term time. This group involves young people ranging from early to late teens plus keen leaders, who come together for fun and friendship and to explore the Christian faith. This is an energizing group that aims to support young people to grow together by providing a safe space to explore faith and discuss questions. It usually consists of games, fun activities and good food. We will often go outdoors and each summer there is a weekend long camp, which might be considered a highlight of the youth programme.

Youth Church

Youth Church meets most Sunday mornings during the Sunday service. This is an enthusiastic and vibrant group of young people and leaders who come together to deepen relationships with God and each other. The group seeks to learn from God’s word whilst applying it to the lives of young people today. It is also a space to safely ask those burning questions facing teens at this time.

Primarily, Youth Church sets to encourage and enable young people to live out Proverbs 3:5, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do and He will show you which path to take”. (NLT)

All leaders have been vetted through the Protection of Vulnerable Groups scheme and are required to sign up to Lerwick Baptist’s safeguarding policies and procedures.
